A Monument That Stood 42 Years, And No One Was Ever Blamed For Destroying It — Georgia Guidestones
Opened ORIGINS · 29 days ago · 73 reads
For 42 years, a granite monument in Georgia bore instructions for rebuilding civilization after the end of the world. It was commissioned by a man who called himself R. C. Christian, paid in cash, and made certain that no one would ever trace him.
In 2022 someone blew it up in the early hours. There were no injuries, no claim of responsibility, no name. And here is the strange part: neither the man who raised it nor the one who tore it down left a trace. Two perfect silences, four decades apart, over one and the same object that half the world read as utopia and the other half as threat.
What unsettles me most is just that: we end up arguing furiously about the intentions of two ghosts. What does it say about us that we fill that authorless void with our own fears, rather than accept that we simply do not know who was speaking?
